Zoppo
Zoppo was the first band I was in.
Started around 1997, I think, we published an lp Chi
Pratica in 1998,
some singles and a cd Belgian Style Pop in 1999. Then we started performing and did a Dutch
tour of around 30 gigs. At that moment I owned a comic book store, which made
it difficult to combine with doing the gigs, so I decided to quit. This was
before we started recording the 3rd full length album Les Aumonts, which was released in 2001. I
consider that album the best option to check out, even though I allready left
the band.
The other members went on and released in 2006 their fourth
album DonŐt Trust Scarred Survivors. Zoppo went on hiatus since 2007, but revived in
2009.
For people who like a mixture of Sebadoh, Daydream Nation,
Polvo, early Delgados this is worth trying out.
Cees participated on the Home Swinger workshop at Le Guess
Who? 2009.
