The
Moi Non Plus
The
Moi Non Plus is one of Dutch leading noise rock acts consisting of Bas Morsch
and Leon Caren raised in 2006 in Amsterdam. Morsch owns a blonde Springtime Guitar. Leon currently owns my
Electric Spring Drum as can be seen on one of the pics on my MySpace (the
crossed wooden construction looking like an ironing board).
In 2008 they recorded their debut album. On several tracks
my instruments are being used for song arrangements. ItÕs not very clear
audiable, because all basic tracks were allready recorded before Bas and I
decided to do something together for this album. So there are just additional
arrangements in the background. All noise on the track I am one is a one take recording on the Bachelor QS without
any additional other instruments. This is a clear recording I played myself
while Bas was recording. ItÕs a blasting noise one single take and if I didnÕt
play it myself I wouldnÕt even recognize my own instrument. It sounds like a
heavily driven bass guitar and a crash cymbal or something, but itÕs just just
two thumb tongues I attacked. The track Jil Sander Makes Your Eyes Black is a recommendation to check out. In
support of this band and I often, when possible, join them on stage playing one
of my Drum Guitars on their song Where is Everything. I joined them on their 2009 SXSW tour.
In
2009 they released TMPRMXXX, The Moi Non Plus Remixed.The album of The Moi Non Plus is remixed by 13
musicians among which Aux Raus, About, Blokgolf, Brenmar, Machinefabriek, and others. The
artwork of the album is remixed by several visual artists among which Marcus
Graf, Nick Helderman, an others. All is packed in a book. Simone Bennett made a video clips for one
of the songs.
The
Moi Non Plus joined me and the other invited musicians at the Guitar au Palais
Festival 2009 in Perpignan.
Bas
played in Sal before. Sal died in 2006. Leon plays also in the bands Blues
Brother Castro and Scram C Baby. Caren is also the founder of Subbacultcha!.
