The
Shavelander
Gerrit
van der Scheer mailed me to inform about a thumb piano on his old Strat. This
triggered to invite him and let me do the job on his instrument.
So
one month later he came over and together we pimped his Strat in 5 hours and
renamed it as the Shavelander.
I
put on a 12 tone Quick Steps (QS) Kalimba, comparable with the ones of my workshop and
the ones on the Bachelor QS and Burner Bass QS.
On
GerritÕs instrument itÕs tuned chromatic, starting from the low E of the guitar
string up to D#.

You
can mail me for adapting your Strat, but only if you are in Holland or are able
to come over to my place. I donÕt do shipment on this instrument. Any guitar
with exact the shape of a strat is good for this. No other guitars if the space
in the tail behind the bridge is shorter than a square of 19x11 cm. Hollow
bodies are inappropriate as well. Purchase a cheap 2nd hand Chinese
Strat clone. IÕve good quality pickups you can put in as a replacement for the
guitar area as well and your Strat will sound just as good as a regular one
from Fender. The bad sound of cheap guitars is mainly caused by ceramic
pickups. IÕve alnicos on stock for a nice warm strat sound.
Check
the pricelist of my instruments if you like to
have such an adapted Strat. You can find my contact details here. No how-to questions
please, I canÕt help you from distance.
